I’ve created a form to collect contact data. I wish to have the user confirm their email address but I cannot see how this is possible.
I know this from other places where I sign up for things myself and need to approve my email before I’m begin registered.
I have a radio button question where the user is asked to confirm if we can use their data or not. If they click yes they should confirm that they own the email address.
How can this be done in SurveyGizmo?

Hi – probably not the intended functionality, and a bit of a workaround, but I guess you might be able to…
- set up an email action within the survey, which might be triggered by submission of a page in the survey where you ask the user for their email address – this page could be set as a terminal page and direct the user to a thank you message (i.e. ‘thank you – please check your email and click on the link in the email to continue the survey and confirm your details)
- in the email template you set up attached to the email action, I think you could include an edit link which would return the user to a specified page in the survey, where they could then continue, confirm their email address and complete the survey
This is just from memory as it’s been a while since I’ve set up email actions, edit links etc. (and when I did this it was using an email campaign not the default link). An issue I’ve found with using edit links like this, is that if a respondent goes back into their email at a later date, after completing the survey, they can still use the edit link to get back into the survey and resubmit/change answers. I imagine the risk is quite low, and it probably depends on what the survey is for as to how relevant this is, just be aware that unlike invitation links sent in email campaigns, edit links won’t expire when the survey is complete.
Like Jim said, there is not a feature in SurveyGizmo to set up what you are looking for directly, but there are options that can be incorporated with thrid parties.
I have previously used the Zapier integration to connect SurveyGizmo with a mail service like MailChimp:
This integration allowed me to add an email address collected in SurveyGizmo to my MailChimp contact list (which then triggered an opt in/confirmation email from MailChimp).
I just wanted to mention this as an option in case it’s something that you want to explore.
There is no built-in functionality in SurveyGizmo that would do this, so you would have to build this yourself.
There is a basic difference between applications designed for event registration (signing up) and survey software. All of the event registration systems we use (eTouches and Cvent) are designed to keep in touch with the registrants and allow for two-way communications between the registrant and the event organizer. Survey systems are designed to collect anonymous responses from unidentified individuals – there is no provision for two-way communications.
This is not to say that what you are asking for is impossible. But unfortunately I have no experience in building this type of functionality.

I want the user to verify that the email address is correct and that he is the owner of the email.
This is usually done by sending a confirmation email to the user with a link he needs to click on in order for the form submission to be registered.
Is this possible in SurveyGizmo?
