I’ve asked this question to support – case 00193933, but haven’t heard any answer for over a week now. Thought I’d post the same thing here to see if anyone has any ideas.
I’m using the RestApi and trying to turn on comments for questions. When I build a question manually through the UI, it’s easy to tun on the comment box and make it optional or required. Then when I use the RestApi to query that question, I can see in the JSON that the question has a field indicating that the comment is “true”:
“English”: “First Question – Nothing to see here”
“shortname”: “First Question – Nothing to see here”,
However, I can find no documentation in the RestApi V4 or V5 to indicate how to set this flag programmatically. I’ve tried the obvious – passing in comment=true as a parameter, and it has no affect.
Does anyone know how to set the comment flag via the RestApi?
Thank you for posting to the SurveyGizmo Community forum! I’m so sorry for the trouble with the support ticket. I have looked into this and one of our Support Agents replied to your inquiry on 7/28 around noon.
Since it looks like the reply did not make it to your inbox, perhaps it got trapped in spam?
In any case, this is the reply from the ticket:
“Thanks for reaching out to Support! At this time, there is not a way to add comments to a question via the API. The existence of the setting is returned via the API, but there is not a way to change the setting via the API. That said, I think this is a good feature request, so I am sending this up to our developers. I will be sure to let you know if/when this functionality is released, but I cannot speak to when that will be.”
I’m sorry for the trouble, Steven! Please let us know if we can assist further!
