What does source country mean in my report?

HI, I have done my first survey and now looking at the report I see “source countries”. What does that mean and how is that info gained?

The information that you get back depends on the respondent’s browser.  If they have turned location sharing off, you will not get any geo-location information from them.  If they have not set the language option on their browser then SurveyGizmo can’t present the correct translation.

Another source of location information is the respondent’s IP address.  If the respondent is connecting to SurveyGizmo thru a VPN this information may be blocked. Or if they are connected to the internet thru a network, the location information will show the network server’s location and not the respondent.

If you use the EXPORT function, you will be able to see all of the information collected from the respondent’s browser.  See the SurveyGizmo documentation for details – http://help.surveygizmo.com/help/article/link/excel-export#what-does-an-export-look-like-

When a respondent clicks on a link, SurveyGizmo interacts with their browser to get device type, operating system, IP address, and geo-location information. This information is used to set-up the proper style template for the device and survey language (if a translated version of the survey is available). The information is then stored in the response database along with the responses.

The information you are asking about comes directly from the respondent’s browser.

        • Hello Jim, thanks for the explanation. I know for sure that someone in Germany answered but Germany was not listed. Is there only one country per region listed?
