Response aggregation best practices

What are your best practices for combining survey responses? My goal is to have an aggregate report for the demographics section of most surveys we create. I’d like to do this in a low-touch way if possible. I also have several people setting up surveys so more error proof is better.

The Combined Reporting option is great if all of your surveys are identical:

You should also look into creating these demographic questions using the question library (if you aren’t already):

If you aren’t already using the library, it allows you to ‘link’ library questions to your surveys – this helps ensure that users don’t edit them and allows you to maintain uniformity across these questions.

If all of your surveys are not identical, there are still options for combining the data but it becomes a bit more of a manual process.

    • You could create a survey that will house all the combined data.
    • You can then export data from each of the other surveys
    • Finally, you could import only the demographic question data into the survey you created. You would use the data import tool to do so:

    Hope this helps!
