Make report regex filter case insensitive

I have a “page feedback” survey that is common to nearly all my webpages, and occasionally someone will respond with a text correction, such as a spelling error.  I want to create a report that will filter in just such responses by looking for terms like “spell”.  Regex seems to be the way to do this, so I can add other relevant terms as they come up regularly enough to merit it, but I don’t know how to make my regex case insensitive.

I’m not a regex expert, but I know there’s a bunch of different “flavors”, and none of the options I’ve found online seem to work in SurveyGizmo.  There also seems to be an “or” limit, or a character limit, to regex filtering, so just using something like

is not only inefficient and likely to miss some instances, it severely limits the actual number of terms I can look for.

What “flavor” of regex does SG use, and what condition can I apply to my regex to make it ignore case in text reponses?

    Hi Jonathan,

The question concerning what “flavor” of regular expressions (REGEX) that SurveyGizmo uses should be addressed to SG Support.  I am not an expert, but I am not aware that there are any different flavors of REGEX in use, but that does not mean that SG’s servers are compatible with all of the different features.

The usual method for making a REGEX case-insensitive is to add a (?i) parameter.  You can get more details at

    Good luck.
