Getting a survey to work well with tablets and mobile phones is confusing. By default, survey pages are optimised to minimise scrolling on small screens. But if the first page of a survey contains welcoming text, or a header image, no ‘Next’ buttons are shown. So the survey cannot proceed.
The only solution seems to be to switch off the small-screen optimising (using Style | Layout) then setting Mobile Interaction to ‘Not Mobile Optimised’.
For new users like me it wasn’t at all easy to figure this out. Perhaps you could make it clearer.

Interesting. So far we’ve found that operating with ‘Not Mobile Optimised’ seems to work OK with tablets.
The problem with the optimised method is that with one object like an image (or just a few objects) at the top of the first page of a survey is enough to make the system break the page into smaller pieces, presumably to minimise scrolling on tablets. This would be fine if there was a ‘Next’ button to proceed beyond the introductory object(s). But no button is presented on a tablet. So survey respondents cannot proceed. They see an almost blank screen.
With cellphones a next/back button pair is always presented. But not with tablets. This must surely be a fault with the SG logic.

I would not recommend switching the Mobile Interaction to “Not Mobile Optimized”. I believe that, depending on the questions type within your survey, this may cause more problems than it solves.
