Can a multiple choice question limit the selections based on a value per selection and not exceed the preset total?

I’m trying to limit the selections on a multiple choice question.  Each selection has a “number of hours” associated with it.  I don’t want the total number of hours to exceed “20”.  If all items are selected it will be significantly higher than 20.

Can a multiple choice question limit the selections based on a value per selection and not exceed the preset total?

There is not a built in feature for this specific request (you can limit the number of buttons/checkboxes that can be selected, but there is not a built in option to limit based on a value associated with the option).

There is something that could be done as a custom solution via Javascript (SurveyGizmo offers Programming Services for this):

There is a continuous sum question type that maybe you could get creative with (here is the help article just in case):

    Hope this is helpful!
