[Solved] Is there anyway to have checkbox (select all that apply) questions results appear in in a single column?

1

Instead of having 4 columns indicating which option was chosen is it possible to have the results for each respondent show up in a single column?

Example:

Question (Select all that apply)

  • 1
  • 2
  • 3
  • 4

Results:

Respondent 1:    1,2

Respondent 2:     1,3,4

Or even better, is it possible to assign a combination it own numerical value (ex: if someone selected 1 & 2, this would be called “5”, if they selected 1 & 3, this would be “6”, etc.)

    Hi,

Are you referring to displaying the results in an export?  If so,

    1. Go to the Export Tab and click on an export.
    2. Click “Customize Report”
    3. Navigate to the “Settings”
    4. Look for “Show checkboxes as:” and select “Single Column. Respondent answers will show under a single column”
    5. “Save” report

Regarding “Or even better, is it possible to assign a combination it own numerical value (ex: if someone selected 1 & 2, this would be called “5”, if they selected 1 & 3, this would be “6”, etc.”

    • You could do this with some custom scripting and a separate hidden question where you defined what values 5 & 6 were.
    • Here is the scripting library,  https://script.surveygizmo.com/help. Do you have anyone on your team with some coding skills?

    Best,
    Mary
