Include uploaded image in response email

I am trying to include an uploaded image in the reply email that is received when the survey has been completed. I managed to get it to work an successfully received and email containing the image using the following code included in the confirmation email:

<img src=”[question(“value”), id=”117″]”>

I have since been unable to replicate this success and have found that my confirmation email HTML code is automatically being changed upon saving:

<img src=”[question(” value=”” />

I have been using the following GUIDE for info and understand that this is to include the image in a PDF but I don’t understand why it shouldn’t work in email, especially as I had it working at least once.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    It is likely that the problem is with the HTML code – sometimes the HTML code can be break when using merge code (is the wrong types of quotes are used, for example).

    It’s difficult to say what exactly might be breaking things on your end. You may consider reaching out to SurveyGizmo Support directly as they will be able to take a look at your email action and troubleshoot this.

    You will have to grant support access by following these instructions:

    You can reach support via live chat or email.

      Hi Dominic,

      You were dead right about the quotation marks in the html code.

      Josh from surveygizmo got back to me with the following reply:

       When utilizing merge codes within HTML, you’ll want to ensure the URL is within single quotes as the merge code itself has double quotes within it.

      Below is an example.
      <img src=’[question(“value”), id=”117″,urlencode=”true”]’/>

      I’ve also since added the urlencode attribute to account for file names the contain spaces.

      Hopefully this will be of use to someone in the future.
