When using the Quiz Score action to average up responses in a tally format from a checkbox grid, even though I am asking multiple questions per section, only one answer is allowed per row. I consistently cannot get a right assessment score and after having Survey Gizmo generate test responses I think that it is counting every answer possible for the denominator. How do I change this?
0-novice, 1-learner, 2-trying, 3-expereinced, 4-expert
- I can do push ups: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
- I can do sit ups: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
- I can do pull ups: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
The total average score should be 12 out of these 3 questions, not 30 because only one answer can be selected each line.
I think I can explain the problem based on your description of the question you’re using. If you are using a Checkbox Grid, the respondent is not limited to one answer per row, as you want them to be. Checkboxes allow for multiple selections, which means a higher number of possible options that can be selected, and this is likely what’s making the denominator a much higher number than you expect.
If you switch your question from a Checkbox Grid to a Radio Button Grid, it will behave the way you expect (only one selectable option per row) and should yield the denominator you’re expecting to see. Hopefully this is helpful!
