Can I generate e-mail responses based on Quiz scores for indiviual topics?

Hi there

I’m setting up a short survey, in which the respondent is asked to assess their organization on a number of different topics. 

Each topic has 3-4 questions (radio button) with three answer options for each question. As far as I can tell from https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/quiz-score-by-page, I should be able to tally the result from each individual topic with a quiz score action, but I’m having trouble getting it to work. 

Based on the quiz score, the resulting score for each topic can be either “poor” or “good”. I have a section of text prepared for each result option. 

Ultimately, I’d like to set up an automated e-mail confirmation where the content is generated based on the scores for each topic. 

So, for example, if a respondent got a poor score in the first two topics, and a good score in the last one, the e-mail would look like this:

“Hi [name]

Here is your assessment results:

Topic one:

[Poor result text]

Topic Two:

[Poor result text]

Topic Three:

[Good result text]”

Based on my research of the documentation this should be possible using logic rules, but again I’m having difficulty getting it to work in practice. 

Does anyone know if the above can be done without custom coding, and if so, how?

    I think what you have explained should be possible using the built-in tools (no custom coding). The main thing to keep in mind is the order of operation:

    • First: you will have the questions that you are scoring
    • Second: The Quiz Score Action where you compile the scores MUST be on a page that is after the page with the questions (doesn’t have to be the very next page, but must be a page after the questions) – it sounds like in your case this should be a TALLY QUIZ.
    • Third: The Email Action MUST be on a page after the Quiz Score Action page (same reasons as above).
