Custom naming an id of an element like a textbox

0

SurveyGizmo creates an id for each element on a page.  For example, a textbox might be referred to as id=”sgE-2607968-3-7-element“.  When referencing these elements using Javascript, it’s a bit cumbersome.  Is there a way to create my own unique name for a specific element like a textbox?

    Hi Patrick,

I don’t believe there is a way to create a custom id per element, but one thing I have utilized is providing a custom class name to the element. Inside the question properties you would access the “Layout” tab and at the bottom you can insert the class name.

    Step 1.

    Step 2.

Depending on the need, I use jquery or javascript to target that specific element. I also use the classes parent/child elements to target other objects. This has made customizations more dynamic.

Let me know if this helps or if there is anything else I can assist with.

    Thanks!
