When does the cookie expire for the duplicate protection?

To prevent duplicate responses to your survey, you can select Cookie-Based duplicate protection on SurveyGizmo. A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in the user’s web browser.

My question is when does this cookie expire? Ideally, I would want the cookie to expire after 30 days or so.

It looks like the cookie expires after 90 days.

There is info touching on this here:

    Hope this helps you both!

I’ve spoken with SurveyGizmo support and they use persistent cookies. There is no set expiration date. Here’s what they said…

It depends on the users’ settings within their browser. For example, within my browser and can select to have cookies automatically deleted after a certain date. I choose to leave mine as long as possible (or until I run into some issues). We use persistent cookies like in this article:

      http://www.allaboutcookies.org/cookies/cookies-the-same.html

“Persistent cookies – these files stay in one of your browser’s subfolders until you delete them manually or your browser deletes them based on the duration period contained within the persistent cookie’s file.”

Unfortunately we don’t have a way to control the cookies in a respondents browser but you can recommend to them that they clear out their cache and cookies if they need to go back into a survey.

I have the same question at the moment and wondering if this is resulting in our current decrease in response volume? Can anyone help out with an answer here?
