Is there a way to change the default text in the language bar?
I’ve created a survey in two languages (english is the default language with the french option in the language bar), and the language bar text is in english, which is not helpful for someone who does not speak english. When they click “French” the text changes to french, but at that point the user will have already navigated to the french survey so it doesn’t matter anymore.
I understand that it would be a lot of text to place in a multi lingual survey if every language option had a translation in the language bar, but that would still be more helpful! Am I missing something here?
I understand that the browser will auto detect, but with a language like french there are many dialect options, and even though I’ve selected the one that is most common, there are still many people worldwide using browsers set to “French (France)”, and for those users my survey will show up in english with out any french text to guide them to the translation.
This question is already asked here: https://community.surveygizmo.com/questions/question/change-default-text-language-bar/, but the site did not let me post a comment on the thread. Apologies for the duplicate!
Yes – there is a way to change the default text in the language bar. You can review the SurveyGizmo documentation for details – https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/language-bar#translate-the-language-link-labels
You are right about the auto detect feature. There are too many variables that make this option unreliable.
