I read alot of the documentation regarding the data import tool. I still haven’t figured off how to add new data to the survey to existing respondents, using Response ID match.
I downloaded the survey data and use one of the variables to determine which of the respondents were bots (bad data). I have a new CSV spreadsheet with two columns 1) Response ID and 2) a new variable created (1=bad data; 0=good data). I would like to add the new column of data to my existing survey so I can bulk-delete them from the reporting tool.
I am a database purist, so I would advise against doing anything to modify the original response data. Any thing that you do to the original database creates the possibility of error and corruption. Even if you are careful, it will be in everyone’s mind that the response data has been manipulated. This is a door that you should not open.
Having said that, you can import data into an existing survey. See the SurveyGizmo documentation for details- https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/data-import#bulk-update-existing-answers., and pay attention to the Best Practices section.
My preference would be to use the data cleaning tool to find and disqualify responses. Or copy your survey and import your new data into that instead of the original.
