24 hour format

0

Hi there,

I need to use a time question where respondents can type in the time they did something or select from a clock. It is important than once we export the data, it comes back to us in a 24 hr format. Can you please direct me to where to find it?

Thanks,

Andrea

Unfortunately there is no built-in functionality that will allow you to collect hour:minute data from respondents in the manner that you want.

To collect tthe time value you can set up a textbox and then use a REGEX pattern to validate the response.  This forces your respondents to enter the time in a very specific format. You can review the SurveyGizmo documentation for details (https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/article/link/textbox-answer-formats#other-useful-regex-patterns).

However, unless you ask your respondents to enter the time value in 24hr format you are going to have to use custom scripting to convert the responses.

As an alternative, you could use drop-down menus for the hours and minutes.  Set the reporting values for the hours field to reflect the 24hr format (1:00pm = 13, 2:00pm = 14, etc.).   On the report that you use for the survey you can set this question to use the reporting values instead of the option titles.  See the documentation for details – https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/article/link/reporting-values#reporting-values-in-reports-and-exports
